ReplyDeleteI'm in I think... Any requirements for how many books we read?
ReplyDeletemaria dot elmvang at gmail dot com.
I'm in although I'm not sure which books I'll read yet.
ReplyDeleteOK. I have a tentative list. I will be reviewing the books on my main blog.
ReplyDeleteI am in! I know I'll be reading Potok, whom I LOVE. I just might be his biggest Baptist fan, ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't planned on doing any more challenges (yeah, right!), but this one sounds interesting. I've always been interested in Jewish customs and culture, so I think I'm going to look into this one. Any specific number of books to read?
ReplyDeleteSorry guys I thought I put that in. Minimum 5 books. Remember if you wanted to be able to post to this blog, I need your email address too.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering about a challenge with just this theme. I am definitely (sp) siging up for this one. A favorite author of mine is Cynithia Freeman. She writes novels where the main characters are Jewish and the are just in the begining of last century and then there is Maise Mosco that has a series about Jewish refugees to England. I am in the fourthe book of that series and it is very good. So sign me up.
ReplyDeleteI realized I will be fulfilling this challenge almost anyway, since I just joined the Mother's circle course, an 8-month discussion group for mom's who are raising their children jewish, but are not jewish themselves. This fits perfectly, so count me in!
ReplyDeleteI am so in! My email is piperoliveravram at yahoo dot com. Now I just have to think of what I'm going to read.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to do this. I'll begin with The Gift of Ascher Lev Chaim Potok and then read a history of the Jews by Paul Johnson.
ReplyDeleteOh, and here's my email addrss, I forgot to add that:

ReplyDeleteProbably it will be:
Wrestling With Zion ed by Tony Kushner and Alisa Solomon
Rabbis and Wives by Chaim Grade
The Rent Tent by Anita Diamant
My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok
Four Centuries of Jewish Women's Spirituality
because these are some of the books I got at a recent book sale!
Going to try to fit this one in!

I'm in. Had fun picking books for this one.
ReplyDeleteI would like to do this, please! mmoranATnorthwestmsDOTedu
ReplyDeleteHi, I'd like to join the challenge! Do I have to name the books ahead of time? I'm a synagogue librarian and I host a Jewish lit podcast, so I know I'll defintely read 5 Jewish books between now and Passover, I just don't know which books yet!

ReplyDeleteI'd like to participate in this challenge too. I'm not sure what I'll read...will have to do a little researching first, but it is something I'm definitely interested in!
ReplyDeleteI guess I didn't link to my list the last time I posted since I'm not in the participant list. Good thing I don't take things personally. ::grin:: Anyway, even if I'm not official, I've been playing along. My e-mail is dkwrtknox at sbcglobal dot com.
ReplyDeleteI've posted a review for The Eight Nights of Hanukkah.
